About Us

The Springfield Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization which has applied for 501(c)3 status that enhances Springfield township through projects and programs to make this township a better place to live. The Foundation will accomplish this mission by generating corporate and private financial support and encouraging contributions of volunteer time.

The Foundation was started in 2005 by Springfield community leaders who saw an opportunity to build on the strengths of this community to make it even better. While seeking to make Springfield stronger culturally, socially, intellectually and economically, the Foundation looks to enact projects and programs that benefit all Springfield residents, businesspeople and other community stakeholders.

In addition, the Foundation looks to build on two of the primary strengths of this community: its long history stretching over 300 years and the strong neighborhood bonds that exist because of this history. The Foundation builds on the established traditions that exist in Flourtown, Oreland, Wyndmoor, Erdenheim, Laverock and the panhandle and seeks to help neighborhood organizations connect with other groups in the community, raise funds and attract more volunteers to their organizations.
